MFT - 2020 Card Design Superstar - Coloring Virtuoso Challenge
===== English translations are in dark blue =====
I'm taking a little break from my 100 Christmas Projects today to share with you the cards I made for the annual My Favorite Things' Card Design Superstar. It's the 3rd year I participate to this contest!! Rules are clear: respect the categories and use MFT product (except inks and cardstocks).
This year, for the "Coloring Virtuoso" category, I chose a stamp from the MFT's Perfect Picture stamp set. This set is so adorable!! It's honestly one of the cutest set EVER!!
I've started with a 5¼'' x 4'' panel on a standard A2 sized card. I like that look because it nicely frames the card. To add interest, i've cut 4-5 times the "Fancy Flourish" die from a paper that had double-sided tape all over one side. That way, I ended up with die-cuts that are sticky all over the back side without having to fear the glue oozing out or the die-cut to unstick (double-sided tape are, usually, really strong). If you press them on really well, they stay in place for ages. So, i've place these die-cuts on the panel, using the part that hangs out of the edge of the card base. When the panel is completly covered, it looks like it's emboss but, even deeper. What a nice way to stretch up your dies!!
The sentiment came from the same stamp set (Picture Perfect) and it was stamped on a die-cut made with the MFT's Folded Fishtail Banner. It's honestly a really clever die, nicely done and versatile. I always keep it near my working surface because it's one of those useful die we like to have on hand. To keep it fresh, you can put the fishtails going up or going down, over or under the banner. You even can add a touch of color by adding colored cardstock in the back of the die-cut. It's a great way to tie the banner with other elements on the card (like the matting of the image, in that case).
